4 Spices

My son found 4Spices while searching for sushi on Koh Samui and we’re very glad he did. The restaurant is located high above Chaweng with fantastic views. The drive up is steep, but there is parking available and a buggy service takes you the final stretch to the restaurant. We arrived around 8pm on a very rainy evening without a reservation and were seated immediately. We ordered sea bass sashimi, salmon tempura, sea bass red curry, chicken fried rice, a 4Spices roll, salmon nigiri and tuna nigiri. Everything was beautifully presented and full of flavour. The sea bass sashimi, sushi and red curry were all excellent. The salmon tempura wasn’t really to our taste because we prefer salmon served raw, but that was purely personal preference and not a reflection of the quality of the dish. Service was friendly and attentive throughout, and the views over Chaweng are excellent, especially at night. I imagine arriving before sunset would make the experience even better. Our bill came to just over THB 3,000 for three people, although we definitely ordered more food than we needed. A great restaurant with excellent food, service and views. Well worth the trip up the hill.

I had an absolutely unforgettable experience at 4 Spices in Koh Samui. The moment you arrive, you are greeted by a breathtaking panoramic view of Bangrak Bay that sets the tone for an exceptional evening. The menu is wonderfully diverse and reflects a creative fusion of Thai, Israeli, Japanese, and international flavors. Every dish we tried was beautifully presented and full of fresh, rich flavors — from the expertly crafted sushi to the bold fusion plates and signature Thai specialties. The balance of flavors was impressive, offering something exciting with every bite.  Drinks are equally delightful, with inventive cocktails that pair perfectly with the stunning ocean views. The service was friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming, which made the whole dining experience feel more personal and special.  Price-wise, 4 Spices offers excellent value for such high-quality cuisine and setting. The creative menu, gorgeous vistas, and impeccable service all come together to create a standout experience that anyone visiting Koh Samui should not miss.  I highly recommend 4 Spices for anyone seeking a memorable meal with a beautiful view and an international flair — this place truly deserves a 5-star rating in every way.

Amazing experience at 4Spices – outstanding food & service! We had a fantastic evening at 4Spices, and everything from the drinks to the main courses was top quality. We started with two fresh coconuts – honestly the best and freshest we’ve had on the entire island of Koh Samui. Perfectly chilled and incredibly refreshing. Along with that, a Chang beer, ice-cold and just right. For sushi, we ordered 8 tuna rolls and 8 salmon rolls, and they were absolutely fantastic. You could really taste the freshness of the fish, paired with a nice bit of crunch from the cucumber. The slightly thicker soy sauce was a real highlight — it elevated the sushi even more and rounded everything off perfectly. As a starter, we had the crispy salmon. It was a bit different from what we expected, but still very good and enjoyable. For the main course, the red curry sea bass was outstanding. The fish was perfectly tender, the coconut sauce was smooth and aromatic, and the curry flavor was simply top-level — rich, balanced, and incredibly delicious. A special mention goes to our waiter Kyaw Tun. His service was exceptional: friendly, attentive, professional, and genuinely caring. He made us feel very welcome and truly enhanced our entire dining experience. We would absolutely come back and highly recommend 4Spices — amazing food, great atmosphere, and first-class service.
