“Absolutely loved this hostel. Solar is a ray of sunshine (I miss him) so are all the staff and wonderful owners. The owners cats are adorable and were very entertaining. Food was so yummy, and the common space was perfect for hanging out with other travellers. I definitely recommend a scooter for this hostel as it’s a bit out of the way and walking into town/the beach you will see some dogs so if you are walking, make sure to go back before sunset. We had some dogs that were not the most friendly chase us. Not the hostels fault at all, just be aware of this if you are on foot. If I am back in Samui one day I’ll be back at Blockhouse! Thank you for welcoming us. 🇨🇦”

“I had an amazing stay at Block House ! The accommodation is excellent, very clean, comfortable, well designed, and perfect for a relaxing stay. Everything was exactly as expected (and even better). The managers are truly outstanding, friendly, professional, responsive, and always happy to help. They really care about their guests and make you feel welcome from start to finish. “I was very very pleased to see how welcoming and sharing the entire crew was at this establishment. Sola is incredible, really making sure that his guests are taken care of and informed with how to move and what to do. Elle was great as well, great personality and caring to make sure guests and house are taken care of. There are a couple cats in the property that you will most likely fall in love with and want to take back home! i highly recommend Blockhouse Samui,, i felt at home. it was easy to walk around or arrange transport if needed. the high street is a 5 minute walk away and the beach 4 more after that.. restaurants, markets and shops all around.. I will be back !! Thank you BlockHouse samui!”

“This place is a great place to stay to explore northern Samui. The two women who work/own the place are so lovely and helpful, checking in was super easy. We stayed in one of the double rooms and it was super clean, nicely decorated and air conditioned. The hostel also had a cute cat which was super friendly.”

“Myself and my wife have spent a couple of nights in Blockhouse Samui and unfortunately we can't recommend this place. 10 bed dormitory is rather small and beds are right next to each other. Curtains are only from some sides of the beds so if you're unfortunate you'll be "sharing" the same curtain with another bed and therefore you might be exposed (as I was). We have reached out to this hostel well ahead of our arrival asking if it's possible to share the same bunk bed (1 bottom level bed, 1 upper). We did not get any response and when we arrived we were assigned to 2 random, separate beds. It's not a big issue but communication should have been better here. There are no signs about quiet time after 10pm or whatever and a lot of party people come to this hostel so be prepared to not get sleep at all. We were unfortunate to be in the room with groups of people coming back in the middle of night, turning on the light, making noise and having no respect for other guests at all. Hostel is also connected with the restaurant where people stay longer than 10pm and staff is creating noise themselves. AC in the room is being turned only at night so you won't be able to stay there during the day. Also the room is very dark and sheets are not being exchanged at all. Overall, we can't recommend this place unless you're thinking only about partying. Then I guess it won't really matter.”
