Boat Bar

I recently visited Boat Bar at Bangrak Pier in Koh Samui, Tucked away set back off the main road, this little bar offers a peaceful escape from the usual tourist hustle. The location is perfect—right by the water with stunning views of the bay and bobbing boats, especially beautiful at sunset. It’s not loud at all; they keep the music low (or none at all during quieter times), making it ideal for a calm, enjoyable meal without any blasting speakers or crowds. The prices here are very reasonable—great value for the quality and setting. They have a well-balanced menu featuring both authentic Thai dishes and solid Western options, so there’s something for everyone. We ordered a chicken burger, fried wings, a beef burger, pad krapow (spicy basil stir-fry), and Tom Yum soup with seafood. Everything was delicious: the burgers were juicy and perfectly cooked, the pad krapow packed with bold flavors, and the Tom Yum was rich, tangy, with fresh seafood. Portions were decent for the price. The wings were a stand out. Super good tender and crispy. Service was friendly and attentive without being overbearing. The only thing that stood out as “loud” was the owner himself—proudly calling himself “California Chris”, an American guy who’s clearly passionate about his place. He seems like a genuinely nice, welcoming character who chats with guests and makes everyone feel at home. Overall, Boat Bar is a charming little spot with excellent prices, good service, delicious food, and that rare peaceful vibe overlooking the bay. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a relaxed meal away from the noise. 5 stars for the chill factor!

Menu looked good. Read previous reviews. Ordered chicken taco's and chicken burger. Chicken taco's came with duck pancakes definately not taco's were very bland no smokiness, spice or salsa. Chicken burger had a funny purple colour in it and the chips were terrible (old oil) tasted of gasoline. Daughters dinner arrived and was eaten before my chicken burger and fries arrived.Would not recommend or come back.

Fun bamboo bar on the beach. Great sunsets and nice staff. The beer is always cold and their food is the best around for the price
