“We stayed in a cute little beach house #212 right by the sea and were really happy with it. Breakfast was included and it was perfectly fine. Just a short walk away is the pier for boats to Koh Phangan and Koh Tao – super convenient, as we spent a few days on Koh Tao. The boats were barely noticeable, so no issue at all. Honestly, this turned out to be the best beach on the whole island! We didn’t expect that, but there were almost no people, the water gets deep immediately (no rocks, no water shoes needed), and right next to the beach there’s a bar/restaurant with clean toilets. Perfect! We explored about half of Koh Samui, but this beach was easily our favorite. The area is nice and quiet – not many options around, but everything you need is within a 10–15 minute walk. Highly recommended! :)”

“Nice accommodation offering a comfortable family vacation and great value for money. The location is excellent: right on a calm and clean beach with pristine waters, in a quiet area with plenty of good and inexpensive restaurants and bars nearby, as well as minimarts, massage parlors, and a laundry service. The beach overlooks the Pralarn Pier, but we did not find the ferry traffic bothersome for our enjoyment of the beach. The property consists of many bungalows of different sizes and amenities. We stayed in the Bungalow Deluxe and although it was simple and not very large, it was sufficient for our purposes. Most importantly, the bungalow was clean, well appointed, and quite cozy. Complimentary coffee was a nice addition, and we also liked the spacious veranda. The bungalows are surrounded by beautiful, well-maintained gardens and greenery. The property overall is styled in a pleasant traditional oriental setting. The pool was clean and sufficiently large, and there were plenty of sun loungers available both by the pool and on the beach. Breakfast was served buffet-style and was plentiful and varied, with many traditional as well as local dishes on offer, including fruit salad, filtered coffee, and the option to order various styles of eggs. Everything during our stay was perfect and we really enjoyed our time at this family-oriented hotel.”
“I have stayed here for 10 nights. Location is very quiet, nice, but there is nothing to do in the vicinity. Except for a number of reasonable restaurants. Had a villa with private pool which is very spacious and good, but it needs a renovation. Houses are clean on the other side. Atmosphere is nice and personnel is friendly and nice. Breakfast is very simple and every day the same. Anyhow, interesting place for a reasonable price.”
“At first, when I arrived by taxi and my suitcases were unloaded and placed in front of the hotel, no staff member greeted me. I stood there waiting… and waiting. After about 15 minutes, I decided to have a smoke while still waiting. Eventually, I thought I should go and see if someone at reception could help. Again — I waited… and waited — until a staff member finally took her time, treating me as if I were just someone who had randomly walked in off the street. The check-in felt robotic: sign here… sign there… beachfront room 123. I paid a premium price, so I expected at least a basic level of hospitality — especially from a SHA Extra Plus resort. I was driven by golf cart to the bungalow. Inside the room, I had to search for a while before finding where to insert the key for electricity (well hidden behind the curtains). Next, I wanted a cappuccino with almond milk. That turned out to be impossible. No almond milk, no oat milk, no alternative. (Well, lucky me — because I’m intolerant to milk products.) I called reception… let’s just say luck was not on my side. Breakfast & Hygiene Breakfast was extremely disappointing. I didn’t even bother taking photos — when I arrived, there were only leftovers and scraps, and the food containers and surrounding areas were greasy… and more greasy… one after another. Cleaning? So-and-so. I honestly didn’t notice much difference, except that the bed was made. Overall, everything felt greasy: • Curtains left grease on my hands • Tables were greasy • Seating areas felt greasy • The terrace was dirty Location Issues The beach itself looks nice, but the resort is located right next to Lamprayah High Speed Ferries. From there, a strong smell of gasoline frequently drifts straight into the beach bungalows, pool area, and restaurant. It feels like I’m sitting on a ticking “beach bomb” every time I light a cigarette, due to the constant smell of gasoline from the nearby ferry port — only about 50 meters from my bungalow and roughly 10 meters from the restaurant. I constantly experience pressure and headaches. It feels like I’m eating gasoline with every bite of food I take, and with every sip of water or coffee that goes down. Disgusting. There is also constant noise and deep rumbling from running ferry motors — every morning for hours and throughout most of the day. Surroundings Nearby shopping and restaurants are not worth trying, unless you want a bad stomach for the rest of your vacation. Final Thoughts The photos shown online are flattering — but not reality. The resort is seriously overpriced for what you actually get. I deeply regret choosing this place, as it felt like paying far too much for very poor quality. To be fair, the bungalow did have a great view, it was spacious, and the bathroom was large. Even though this is officially a ⭐⭐⭐ hotel, I didn’t expect a five-star experience. However, when a resort advertises itself as SHA Extra Plus, I expect better than an average 3-star hotel. I have experienced many much better 3-star hotels than Coco Palm Beach Resort SHA Extra Plus. I honestly question whether this place even deserves two stars. This is not a place I would recommend, nor one I would ever return to.”
“We spent 5 nights in a deluxe bungalow. While the location on the beachfront is nice, our experience was disappointing compared to the price, especially given it was high season. The photos online made the bungalows look modern, but in reality they were quite outdated and run-down. There were no opaque curtains, so the sun woke us up early every morning — not ideal when you’re on holiday. There were a lot of families with young children, which was fine for us, but not great if you’re traveling as a couple looking for a quieter atmosphere. The breakfast variety was limited — it was okay for the first couple of days, but became repetitive and uninspiring after that. Although the hotel is right on the beach, the shoreline was not very nice — a lot of debris and pollution — and the nearby speedboat pier didn’t help the scenery. Overall, not great value for money considering the price we paid.”
