“I had a wonderful stay at DK1 Hostel! Mama, the owner, is incredibly kind and welcoming. She always makes sure everyone feels at home and is happy to share great local tips and recommendations. The hostel is small, cozy, and very clean, with a simple kitchen for guests to use. One of the rooms has recently been renovated and looks great. The hostel also has a very social atmosphere. As a solo traveler, I found it easy to meet new people every day. The location is perfect for those who prefer a quieter part of Chaweng while still being within walking distance of the beach, restaurants, nightlife, and two nearby 7-Elevens. For me, it was the ideal place to stay while volunteering at the Dog and Cat Rescue Center nearby. DK1 Hostel truly feels more like a home than a hostel. Highly recommended!💛”
“This is my second stay at DK1 Hostel, and once again, the past two weeks have been absolutely wonderful. Mama, the owner, is incredibly kind and makes you feel right at home. It’s easy to meet people there and spend time together. The staff do everything they can to keep the dorms, bathrooms, and common areas clean. I recommend this hostel 100%.”
“If you’re looking for home away from home in Koh Samui then this is the place. DK mama maintains the place like her own house, greets and interacts with each and every guest. The location of the hostel is also quite close to popular Chaweng beach which is also Nightlife hub of Samui. Hostel also has very well equipped kitchen where you can cook your own meals. Meet really great folks in the hostel and was really amazing to hear their stories. Thank you for taking care mama and will see you soon.”
“Out of all the hostels we’ve stayed in, DK1 will always have a special place in our hearts. The rooms and bathrooms are super spacious with everything you need. Facilities are perfect with as much coffee and water are you could want. Right around the corner from the beach/7 eleven/stadium, honestly the list goes on. That being said - nothing compares to our DK mama. A wonderful, beautiful soul that turns every stranger into family. My partner and I only stayed 2 nights, but even in such a short space of time, mama captured our hearts and gave us a home away from home. When we arrived, my partner had a foot injury and I had come down with the cold. Mama went above and beyond from helping us get ice and making sure we were safe, comfortable and happy to offering to go and get us dinner and bring it to us. She is incredibly hard working and tends to all hostel needs on her own. But was never too busy to have a yap and a giggle with us. We could not have asked for a more wonderful stay. (Not to mention meow meow the cat who is most loveable, sweet girl). Thank you so much for everything mama, your Scottish girls will never forget you ❤️”
“Best Hostel for the price in whole of Samui. Tharita (Mama) will treat you like one of her family you will not get this from any other host on the island, she is very humble and tries her best to accommodate everyone’s needs but she runs the hostel herself so be kind and do not expect miracles she will do everything to the best of her ability without you even need to ask. She even made everyone pasta for free during my stay which was amazing. I wouldn’t go anywhere else but here if I was to return to Samui as this feels like a home away from home. Very nice rooms and everything is cleaned to a very high standard. There are no outdoor footwear allowed in the building but the floors are always clean and are maintained throughout the day multiple times so there’s no problem. Do not hesitate to book here you will not regret it.”
