⭐⭐⭐☆☆ Electric Forest Samui – great idea, mixed execution. Stage two was the highlight. The music there was genuinely good—warmer, more intimate, and it felt alive. That said, a friendly heads-up: the walkway between areas is made of stepping stones, paired with blinding lights. Whether intentional or not, it’s a near-perfect booby trap for anyone a couple of drinks deep. Genius design if the goal is crowd-based slapstick. Stage one didn’t really land. It felt cold, unfinished, and a bit hollow. The stretch tent would benefit massively from a starlight canopy or anything other than a stark white void—it drained the atmosphere instead of building it. The sound system added to that feeling: too much pressure in the speakers, a cold resonance that pushed into the crowd rather than wrapping around it. Stage two, while smaller, initially felt about four degrees warmer—instantly more human. That illusion disappeared once you clocked that you’re essentially dancing inside a cage in the forest. Interesting concept, slightly claustrophobic reality. The speakers were undersized, which forced the DJ into the red at one point (credit where it’s due: it was corrected within minutes). Lighting in parts was overly direct when it should’ve been calming and immersive. Overall, it was an enjoyable evening. It’s genuinely nice to see something different happening on the island, and the ambition is there. But the pricing raised eyebrows. Entry at 500 baht felt hard to justify given the uneven sound delivery. Water at 40 baht for a tiny bottle, served without a glass, didn’t help. Toilets at the back of a bus and no cold towels available—even for purchase—felt like missed open goals. Cold cloths are an easy win. Absolute game-changer in this climate. In short: strong concept, flashes of brilliance, but execution needs tightening. With better sound balance, warmer staging choices, and a bit more care for crowd comfort, Electric Forest Samui could be something truly special. Right now, it’s a promising draft—not the final mix.
My favorite location in Samui. Charming, inviting and such a great line up. If you’re in Samui-a must experience
A unique place for Thailand, and even more so for the island. Charming atmosphere and stylish sound at parties. I am glad that there is a party culture here and, as a rule, there are no overly drunk people. The gloss!
