“After seeing the reviews we had to go for breakfast. Arrived 9.30am. So ordered 2 orange juices, salmon croissant and as a French patisserie wanted to try the quiche? 10 minutes after order the waiter comes with a coconut? We said we didn't order that and he just laughed and walked off? 5 minutes later comes with 1 orange juice? And says they have run out? 9.30am and no orange juice? Salmon croissant came for my wife and that was good! However my quiche was terrible! So dry and inedible! At 300bhat you would expect the service and quality of food to be the best? The second quiche came and was a little better but not worth 3 bhat let alone 300! The whole experience was terrible, service, food, and we clearly were very lucky with other reviews! Never will return 2 stars for the Salmon croissant!Warning avoid the quiche”

“A huge thank you to the wonderful team at Maison Tonka! We are celebrating a friend’s 40th birthday on Koh Samui and I was given the job to arrange the cake. I’m a bit of a foodie and baker so I took this job very seriously. Well I couldn’t have chosen better! From the first contact via Insta, the team has been extremely responsive and accomodating. They designed a custom creation for us with my friend’s favourite flavours, dark chocolate and pistachio. On our arrival on the island, we came to pay for the cake and enjoyed an amazing breakfast. All the pastries and sweets on display looked so good too! On the party day, the cake was delivered to our villa at the arranged time, arrived in perfect condition and looked stunning. And most importantly it was so delicious! Everyone commented on the quality and flavour of the cake. Luckily there was plenty of cake for everyone to have second servings as well 😅 Thank you again for helping to make our event so special! We will visit again on our next trip to Samui!”
“Visited this café today with my husband and infant to escape the heat and enjoy something a little different. The waitress was friendly and attentive. She brought over iced water while I waited for my husband to arrive and kindly accommodated my request for some plain bread for my infant. My smoothie was also very nice. Unfortunately, the experience was overshadowed by the quality of the bread that was served. When it arrived, it was extremely dry and stale, to the point that I initially thought it had been toasted. Upon closer inspection, I noticed several blue-green specks within the bread that appeared consistent with mould. When I raised my concerns with staff, I was told that the colouring was simply a characteristic of the “leavened bread.” However, the specks were blue-green in colour rather than the beige, white, or brown tones typically seen in sourdough or other artisan breads. This explanation did not address my concerns. What was most disappointing was that the bread had been served for an infant. A simple replacement with a fresh slice would have gone a long way towards resolving the situation and reassuring us that food safety was being taken seriously. My husband owns and operates two successful cafés, so we understand the importance of quality control and handling customer concerns appropriately. For that reason, we found this situation particularly disappointing and unacceptable. I hope this feedback is taken constructively and helps prevent a similar experience for future customers.”
“⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Maison Tonka is simply one of the best patisseries in Koh Samui. High-quality products, refined and perfectly balanced desserts, flaky croissants, and pastries made with great attention to detail, both in flavor and presentation. The atmosphere is beautiful and relaxing, ideal for a premium coffee break or a special breakfast. The staff is professional, friendly, and attentive — something that truly makes the difference. You can clearly feel the expertise behind the counter: European-level standards, excellent ingredients, and consistent quality over time. No surprise it’s often busy and so highly rated. A true reference point in Bophut. Highly recommended. 🍰☕✨”
“Been coming to Maison Tonka for a little over a month now several times a week and it’s quickly become one of my go-to spots in Koh Samui. The staff is always warm, caring and the food is genuinely top-notch. They have probably the best croissants on the island and the Pain Suisse might be the best I’ve ever had anywhere. Western prices to be expected for the food quality and the comfortable atmosphere One small suggestion: would be great if the staff could always warm up the croissants before serving them. They’re at their absolute best when served warm ;) Overall, highly recommended.”
