“I was recommended this barber (James) by my mate in Chaweng beach. I got a really good skin fade, a trim and my beard touched up. James paid a lot of attention to detail and I am stoked with the fresh cut. Definitely see why I was recommended them and certainly pass that recommendation on! “I came 30 minutes across the island to this barbershop because of the reviews and it was a complete waste of time. They told me they can’t cut because “50% of the power is out.” That made no sense because the lights were on, the clippers were working, and one of them was literally cutting another customer’s hair right in front of me. The only thing not working was the AC and the door was open anyway. So the shop was clearly operating. They just didn’t want to serve me. When I asked why they could cut someone else’s hair but not mine, I didn’t get a real explanation, just attitude and dismissive behavior. If you don’t want to work in the heat, just say that or close the shop. Don’t lie and say you “can’t operate” while you are actively operating for someone else. That’s dishonest and unprofessional. It also didn’t sit right that the only person being served was a white customer while I was turned away with excuses. Take that however you want, but it raised a serious red flag for me. They wasted my time, treated me with disrespect, and tried to play me like I’m stupid. I do not recommend this place.”
“James is a very talented barber. He knew exactly what I was after with the same terminology as the UK which is hard to find. He did a great job and the best haircut I’ve had since being away travelling.”
