“We had an absolutely great trip at this elephant sanctuary. I did quite a bit of research before settling on this one. They treat the elephants very well. No riding or bathing them. Preparing food for them and getting to see them. The guides know all the information and can answer all the questions. Pick up and drop off was smooth and lunch was delicious. Definitely recommend this place. The one small thing I wish they would change - there’s SO much plastic being used. I took my reusable water bottle with me (as it said on the email, but would’ve taken it anyway) but there was nowhere to refill it. I had to empty a plastic bottle into it - which defeats the whole point.”
“An unforgettable experience - Please support this Sanctuary! I visited last month and it was easily the highlight of my trip. We had an incredible and respectful experience that I cannot recommend enough. Our guide, Apple, was absolutely amazing. They were incredibly knowledgeable, passionate, and it was so clear how deeply they care for the elephants. We got to prepare snacks for the elephants and feed them from a safe distance. It was the perfect way to interact with them without being intrusive or stressful for the animals. While we were lucky to have a "VIP" experience as the only ones in our time slot, it was sad to learn why. Due to the current situation in the Middle East affecting travel, they are seeing significantly fewer visitors. Because they are a truly ethical sanctuary, they rely on us to keep these rescued giants fed and cared for. If you are looking for a place that puts the elephants first, go here - Samui Elephant Sanctuary. They really need our visits and donations right now. “10/10 experience visiting Samui Elephant Sanctuary. Going to a fully ethical sanctuary was my main priority and this did not disappoint. It was so clear to see how much the workers cared for these elephants and their safety/wellbeing. Our tour guide Em, was fabulous, he told us all about each elephants backstory and how they were rescued and also told us about their wonderful personalities which we were able to see in real life. We were able to prepare meals for the elephants and gently feed them but the full experience was just being able to observe these beautiful animals living so freely. An experience of a lifetime and I absolutely recommend this to anyone ❤️🐘”
