“I want to start by saying that the staff is incredible—this is a management issue, not a staff issue. Every staff member we interacted with was kind, accommodating, and genuinely sympathetic to our situation. We stayed at this hotel for 11 nights. On our first night, we were actually pleasantly surprised because it wasn’t nearly as bad as some of the reviews suggested. However, that quickly changed. We had to shower in freezing cold water with almost no water pressure. We assumed it was a temporary issue that would be fixed the next day. The following day, we asked maintenance to fix it. They spent almost an hour working on the shower, and during that time our air conditioning stopped working as well. They couldn’t fix either issue and told us they would move us to a different room the next day. I asked if there was anywhere else we could shower so we could at least feel clean and comfortable, but we were told no. The next day we were moved to a new room. The moment we walked in, we were hit with a horrible sewage smell that had clearly been masked with air freshener. When we asked about it, we were told it would go away and that it was probably caused by the previous guests. Since this room at least had working air conditioning and hot water, we reluctantly agreed to stay. Unfortunately, we soon discovered that this room had no Wi-Fi connection whatsoever. This was a massive problem because we both work remotely and rely on a stable internet connection. So essentially, we traded a room with no air conditioning and no hot shower for one that smelled like sewage and had no Wi-Fi. At that point, we asked to speak with management because we wanted a refund for the remaining nights so we could stay somewhere else. Our request was denied. Even more frustrating, we never got to speak with the manager, and the manager never came to check on us or acknowledge the situation. Because we had no internet in our room, we insisted on working from the lobby lounge where the Wi-Fi actually worked. At first they refused, but eventually they realized they had no choice. We literally had no other option if we were expected to stay there. It genuinely felt like we were being held hostage in a hotel that couldn’t provide the most basic amenities we had paid for. We honestly hated every second of our stay. If all you want is the beautiful view, do yourself a favor and just visit the restaurant. It’s the exact same view without having to stay at the hotel. The beds are rock hard. The breakfast is mediocre and only includes black coffee—you have to pay extra if you want any other type of coffee. The restaurant itself is average, but once again, the staff is wonderful. A special thank you to Max, who was fantastic. Koh Samui is full of incredible hotels at the same price—or even cheaper. Save yourself the frustration and stay somewhere else. If you’re only staying for a night or two, you might be able to tolerate it, but there are so many better options on the island that there’s simply no reason to settle for this experience.”

“We stayed here twice during our trip, one night before heading to Koh Tao, and another six days later. Both times we were warmly welcomed by Nee, who was an absolutely wonderful host: attentive, genuine, and making us feel at home on both occasions. The rooms are charming and well-decorated, the pool is a nice bonus, though the included breakfast we got was entirely skippable. Now, the location is a double-edged sword: you’re perfectly placed near the airport, which is very convenient, but that also means planes fly directly overhead until late at night and start again early in the morning. They offer earplugs in the room but it’s not enough to cover the bass sound and vibrations. Add to that the road noise (particularly loud in our second room), next to no water pressure and very little hot water, rock-hard mattresses, and an AC unit that blasted directly onto us all night in our second room, and you end up having a poor quality sleep, which is regrettable for a hotel...”
“Sea Sun and Beyond is beautiful to look at, but we found it a bit uncomfortable to stay in. We paid around £90 to £100 per night for a sea view room. In Thailand that is not budget pricing, so we expected a certain level of comfort. During our trip we stayed in places that cost about half and felt much more relaxing. The main difficulty is the location near the airport and a busy road. Plane noise is understandable, but the rooms do not seem very well soundproofed. There are small gaps around the doors and little separation from the street, so traffic noise carries into the rooms, even at night. Our first night upstairs had a beautiful view but was quite noisy despite earplugs. We later moved downstairs where the road noise was better, though the sea view was more limited and the bedroom faced the pool entrance, so we kept the curtains closed for privacy. There are also stairs attached to the wall of the downstairs room, which makes footsteps quite noticeable. We could occasionally hear neighbours, traffic, and general movement around the property. The mattress was also way too firm, our backs and shoulders really hurt after our stay there. That said, the restaurant was a highlight. The food was excellent and the staff were lovely. The property itself looks great and the beachfront setting is very nice. Overall, it is a visually beautiful place, but for the price we personally expected a quieter and more comfortable stay.”
“Modern boutique hotel with great rooms and stunning views. We got the room right by the pool, and despite some privacy issues, we loved the beautiful design and sunset views. The only downside is that outsiders can easily sneak into the facilities, which worsens the lack of privacy. They should restrict access to guest-exclusive areas.”
“We enjoyed our day at Sea Sun Bed & Beyond but sharing some honest improvements that could be made. Although this isn’t the hotel’s fault, it sits directly under the flight path for Koh Samui Airport. Planes fly very, very low while landing and can are extremely loud, so light sleepers or anyone hoping to sleep in should be aware! Flights operate roughly from 7am to 8pm, and while the hotel does provide earplugs, noise may still disrupt sleep. The beds are also very, very firm. Even though the pillows are lovely, be prepared for a rock hard mattress. There are only 8 sun loungers around the pool and they are made of metal! The hotel doesn’t provide any type of cushioning for them so they are rock hard, VERY uncomfortable and can get very hot. Huge improvements could be made here by the hotel. So even if you wanted to lie on them all day and watch the wonderful views and sunsets, it would get far too uncomfortable. Breakfast was included. It’s decent and cooked to order. Our only feedback is that there no coffee or water stations, so you have to keep asking for top ups, which was annoying for us and the staff. We asked for a water with breakfast, only to find out it was charged to our room upon checkout, which is absolutely unacceptable. I have to say, the staff were super friendly and the views are incredible. It’s an Insta-worthy hotel, just not very comfy or relaxing.”
