Why Choose ShaSa Resort & Residences?

“We didn't want to leave! Our absolute best accommodation thus far in our 6 weeks in Thailand. The whole suite was so comfortable. We felt at home with so much living space and a well equipped kitchen. The beds were very comfortable. The free breakfast was tasty and varied. The restaurant food was good and we took advantage of room service a couple of times which was very convenient. The pools are lovely and the views from anywhere on the property are stunning. It's a little off the beaten path so we made use of the scooter rentals on-site or called a taxi for some exploration of the rest of Samui. I will now be ruined for any other place we stay because Shasa was so incredible.”

“2 stars for 2 nice big swimming pools. No stars for location, restaurant (closed), or unresponsive and unfriendly staff.”
“We loved our stay here. Positives: Super friendly and helpful staff, especially Thanida and May on reception. Fantastic pool areas and gardens. Awesome location on the beach. Amazing huge apartment - felt like a palace. Wonderful breakfast and resteraunt area. Our family really enjoyed the breakfast each morning. Good gym. Everything super clean. Things to keep in mind: They have been renovating, but this did not bother us significantly. The location is a bit out of town, but we loved being away from the hustle and bustle. I recommend to hire a car to make life easy. We hired one at the airport for US$31 per day. Scooters are also cheap to hire and you can hire them from reception for 400 baht per day. We loved this place and definitely hope to return one day. Thanks for having us! 🙂👍”
“The most beautiful view, amazing pools, and spacious rooms. The rooms came fully equipped with a kitchen and washer/dryer. Ordered room service from the restaurant a couple of times and everything was delicious. Location was great for relaxing but not great if you wanted to do anything else on the island as it’s a 20-40 minutes drive from any stores or activities. Worth the extra driving time though.”
“My partner and I were so disappointed with our stay here. The amenities at this “resort” are extremely minimal with many that were advertised on-site unavailable during our March 2025 stay. Our room was worn down with carpets unraveling, exposed drywall and cracks on the walls, signs of mold, rock hard beds and small televisions. The single on-site restaurant had inconsistent hours and the one time we ordered room service it arrived lukewarm (the prices are also much pricier than similar restaurants in Thailand). The “beach” is rocky, dirty and unusable (and they tell you to avoid it at check-in). I don’t know how this place is allowed to call themselves a 5-star resort, but it nowhere near met our expectations. We were truly uncomfortable here. The only way I can see this place being a good option for travelers is if you are seeking a large space over comfort, amenities or convenience — and even then, there are so many other lovely options on Samui that would be better than here. We expressed our disappointment to management so we could go stay elsewhere and they couldn’t have cared less. I’m leaving this honest review of our experience in hopes it finds other travelers who are considering this place so they have the correct information that they deserve to make an informed decision. If you do decide to book this place: rent a car as it’s located in the middle of nowhere. Also make sure you like a firm bed as they’ve never heard of plush anything.”
