Heard great things about this gym but ultimately left it pretty disappointed. First off, I have been to many gyms in Asia whilst travelling/on holiday (I live in Bangkok) so have a lot to compare against. Firstly, this gym is very well equipped and covers most areas. There is a very large room with resistance machines and free weights etc. There is also a new small room at the back that has some select machines and more dumbbells etc. I think that space is a bit more open and also for mat work etc. There is another space which is a bit more Hyrox focused with sleds, wall balls etc. Finally there is the main cardio area. The gym covers most equipment you'd want but the layout is odd. There is a Hyrox style area, but as you can see people end up using the sled track as a mat/stretching area. Also, the Hyrox ergs (ski, row) are very far away in the cardio room. Yes they are cardio machines but realistically most people using a ski erg are using it for a hyrox workout. My main issue with this gym is it clearly thinks highly of itself, there are strict rules such as no going topless (fine but maybe they should ensure the whole gym is air conned as it was incredibly hot in the Hyrox style area). The price is about 400 baht a day (when I went in April 25) which I think is expensive but that is fine if all equipment is highly maintaned. The cardio area contained many treadmills with belts thst skipped when you ran on them, to the point that they advised you dont go fast (this is dangerous) and the ski ergs were clearly not calibrated, along with the rowers. Overall, it is well equipped but not worth its price tag depending on what youre looking for. For purely weight lifting/body building i think its probably one of the best.
I've been going to Sucses Gym for several years and until now I've designed my own training based on my own experience. A month ago, I decided to get professional coaching. My coach during this time was Owen, one of many coaches at Sucses Gym. I chose Owen because he occasionally corrected my form and pointed out training errors without charging me anything. Now, after seven training sessions, I can say that I chose a very good coach in Owen. He created new training programs for me that target exactly the muscle groups I wanted. He motivated me and also showed me my physical limits. He's a motivated and friendly person whom I can highly recommend. Thank you for your support Owen.
Success Gym in Koh Samui is an excellent spot for anyone looking to keep up with their fitness routine while on holiday. The gym has a great selection of equipment that caters to all types of workouts, from weightlifting to cardio. Everything is well-maintained, and the layout makes it easy to find what you need. Plus, their day passes are very affordable, making it perfect for travelers who want to train without committing to a long-term membership. One of the highlights is the attached Muscle Food Cafe, which offers a range of healthy, protein-packed meals and shakes—ideal for refueling after a workout. I came across Barry Lustig’s review, which mentioned the gym being “hotter inside than out.” From my experience, this is a bit of an exaggeration. While it’s warm (understandably so, given Koh Samui’s climate), the gym is equipped with fans and has good airflow, making it comfortable to train in. Success Gym in Koh Samui is a fantastic place to train—if you’re here to actually work out, that is! In Barry Lustig’s review he’s complaining about some supposed “bro culture” and couldn’t help but laugh. Barry, my friend, if you’re looking for a chat, may I suggest a beach bar or a local social club? Gyms aren’t usually where people go to socialize; most of us are there to break a sweat, not break into conversation. That said, I did meet a few friendly folks who were up for a quick chat between sets, so it's far from an unapproachable place. And as for the
