The location of place 'LaOr Tanchote Samui House' is quite charming. The hostess of this small lakeside complex is a wonderful woman, Or, who is ready to help you whenever you need help. Although the price is low, the lodges are clean and cosy, air-conditioning and a fan are working. The place is on the one hand quiet and peaceful and on the other hand it is not very far from the main road. The beach is a 10-minute walk away, and a 2-3-minute walk to the fresh fruit stand and the Family Mart 24-hour shop. Tanchote lodges are home to relaxed and friendly visitors from different countries, who are often 'house buddies'. Despite the water problem on the island, Or's tap water is clean enough, and for cooking and drinking we used the water stand nearby, where we can fill 10 litres of clean drinking water for 10 baht. For a cheaper and better taxi service, you can ask Poo (the car, in contrast to Thailand's typical unpunctuality, arrives in advance).
