The Villager

Excellent location. Few minutes walk from the beach, loads of shops and restaurants to cater for all the tastes. There is steet market which open ever other day. You will definitely need a beech towel, if you don't have one can rent it from the hotel. Room are of decent size with basic facilties, two bottles of water, and tea and coffee provided every day. Nightly rate is reasonable for what the hotel offers. If you need or not like something, do approach the staff first. Found them to be very friendly, spoke good English, and kept the room clean. We also used the 24-hour laundry service without any issues. Overall, this hotel is fine for a short stay.

The villager is in a great location, close to the beach, night market, restaurants and stores. I was located in the purple building for my stay. The cleanliness of the room was questionable. Extremely run down, the furniture was super out dated, room was filled with mosquitos, bathroom was filled with drain flies, a few cockroaches and multiple ticks found throughout the room. The sheets had holes and stains, did not look clean. Majority of the staff were very kind and helpful. However, one staff member working at the front desk (a women, did not get her name), was extremely rude and passive aggressive. I asked for an extra bath towel as our shower had tiles missing from the shower floor. Which would leak onto the bathroom floor flooding the whole bathroom, everytime it was in use. After expressing this to the lady at the front desk I was felt like I was lying about the situation and it was diabolical I was asking for an extra towel. All good I’ll use the one from the filthy floor to dry myself. Overall, Koh Samui is a beautiful destination to visit. The villager is in a great location, has a nice pool and majority of staff are great. However, it’s not very clean but I guess that’s what you get for going low budget.

Amazing place to stay in Fisherman’s Village. Close to beach & walking street. Great value. Staff so helpful and friendly. Has everything you need for a lovely stay. Thank you :)
