“If you are looking to book an amazing fishing experience on Koh Samui look no further! This place is absolutely amazing. Simon, Larry and Sarah make you feel so welcome from the moment you walk in the door, nothing was too much trouble. The atmosphere is professional but fun at the same time, you quickly feel like part of the Top Cats family there. The guides know really their stuff, are enthusiastic and good fun to spend time with (thank you Doi, Tadpole and Mai Mai). The gear is good quality branded kit and stands up to the goliaths in the lake really well. The variety and size of the fish stocked is amazing and they are all in such great condition due to the care that the guides take with them. We all understand fish care is important, you only have to see the state of some of the fish in European commercial fisheries, but these guys take proper care of their stock and it shows in the quality of the fish you will catch. They have taught me a few lessons to take back to my own club in the UK for sure. Three of us fished over 3 days and had over 3,200lb of fish including a 180lb Arapaima, 100lb Mekong Cats, 90lb Siamese Carp, Asian and Amazonian Redtail Cats, Alligator Gar, Leopard Cats, Ripsaw Cats & Pacu. We stayed on site and our accommodation was lovely and clean, with everything we needed. The onsite catering is delicious, portion sizes are generous, great Thai and English options, the staff friendly and attentive and the bar is well stocked. The pool is a bonus to cool off in after a hard fight in the sun. What more could you ask for? As a family we have fished 4 continents and Top Cats stands out by far as the best place we have ever been. We can't wait to go back!”

“We had such a great 3-day stay at Top Cats Fishery and honestly can’t thank the owners and staff enough for how well they looked after us. From the moment we arrived, the owners came out to greet us and were so friendly the whole time we were there. They kept popping down during the day to chat and check in, which was a really nice touch. Nothing ever felt like too much trouble - they really went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. The guides were brilliant and clearly know their stuff. Tadpole was my partner’s guide and she was amazing; super knowledgeable, really easy to chat to, and just genuinely lovely. My partner had the best time and caught around 36 fish across 8 species over the 3 days, including the one he really wanted - an Amazon Redtail catfish! The food was also really good - tasty, big portions, and very reasonably priced. We stayed on-site too and the rooms were clean and comfortable, with everything you need. The beds were comfy (which is appreciated after long days!), and it was a nice touch having tea and coffee facilities with proper English Yorkshire tea. While my partner was busy fishing, I spent some time by the pool which was perfect - really quiet during the day as most people are down by the lake, so it was a great spot to relax and cool off. Even though I didn’t fish myself, I still felt really welcome and looked after the whole time. You can tell a lot of effort goes into the place. It might seem a bit pricey when you first book, but it’s 100% worth it for the level of service, the quality of the guides and equipment, and the overall experience. We’d definitely come back!”
“Simon, Larry and Sarah and all the team at TopCats, what a wonderful resort you have created, we've loved every second spent here! We won the AAC's (Anglers Against Cancer's) auction of this holiday back in september and from the first interaction, youve been nothing but accomodating. From the first email to the moment we left, we felt welcome and that nothing was too much trouble. The team you have are a real credit to you, all so lovely and accommodating and a joy to be around. The food, was out of this world, with a mix of Thai and Western, all freshly cooked and delivered to our swim, although sometimes the portion sizes were too much for us but to the average fisherman, im sure they appreciate it (I just hate wasted food). We were visited throughout the day with the offer of refreshments, we never felt forgotten. I was especially touched by the fact that TJ learned to make Pina Coladas for me, they were out of this world, you'll just have to restock the rum for our next visit! Our room was spacious and very comfortable had ample supplies of water, tea, coffee, sugar etc, the bed and bedding really comfy, and air conditioning kept us lovely and cool. Thanks to Sarah who extended her time to take me and another guest for a massage on the beach and some sightseeing, it really did make the trip more meaningful and was good to see more of the island. Simon, thank you for dropping us into Lamai's night market on a number of ocassions, which was a really nice gesture, we had some great evenings on our Honeymoon! The pool was a great bonus for us non fisherman, a welcomed break from the heat to cool down. Finally the guides, they really know their stuff and work consistently to make sure those fishing, catch well. What a lovely bunch too, we on several occasions had some great banter with them, hopefully Tom knows that "that went well" is a positive statement. “Great time fishing!!!! All the staff were fantastic and very helpful. The guides that stay with you are very good and if you need help they are on hand. The set up you use is more then sufficient enough for the job and a variety of bait to last the whole session. Met the owner who is a real gent and even offers propper Yorkshire tea 😱😁 food and cold beer on request and the team make sure you are fed and watered. Wide range of fish in the water and just nice to just relax inbetween fighting the fish lol. The team are very fish orientated and the care of the fish in paramount!!! Big landing nets, after care spray and very gentle when handling. You have enough time to have a picture in the water with the fish and no messing around which is nice to see. I would 100% recommend these guys and if I get time I will definitely come again. Keep up the good work guys I really enjoyed my time ❤️”
“Got in last minute and it was the afternoon session on the bank I will never forget. The booking was easy, warm hospitality on arrival and straight to the rods with Doy who was my guide for the 5hr session. He worked tirelessly to ensure I got some action and we shared good conversations together too. 2 Amazon Redtails, 1 Alligator Gar, 1 Asian Redtail and I got to feel the immense power of one of the lakes Arapaima until the hook pulled free. Incredible experience! Recommend highly and will be booking well in advance before my next trip to the island.”
