“A Massage Class That’s Not Worth the Money I took an 18-hour Thai massage class for 10,000 baht. I had no prior experience in massage and joined the class to get some basic knowledge for personal use. However, they didn’t teach me anything about the muscles in the body—what types there are, where they are located, or how they function. When I asked about the lymphatic system, they simply said they couldn’t explain it in English. I expected to receive a small guidebook with illustrations of the techniques, like the ones I saw other students with who were taking longer courses. When I asked why we didn’t get one, Kiki replied that my course was not a full training, so I didn’t need a guide. But in reality, they could have easily provided a mini-guide with just the techniques we covered. Instead, I had to write everything down in a notebook myself, which was really inconvenient. You’d think 18 hours of practice would be enough to learn a lot, but in reality, you only get hands-on techniques without any theory. On top of that, I often had to be a model for other students, which sometimes took up to three hours of my daily training time. Kiki was very sweet, but for such an expensive course (in my opinion), her attitude was far from serious. She even watched TikTok while I was practicing techniques on her. Overall, the experience wasn’t terrible, but it was definitely not worth 10,000 baht.”
